Fire, the warm glow felt lovely but wasn't so grand. His house burning down and the smoke made it hard to see, he run out bed and to his mother and father's room but couldn't see them in there. Thinking they already were out of the house, he rushed to his big brothers room but couldn't see him in here ether. The house become hotter and hotter by the minute, he wondered why his family didn't come for him. He shielded his right eye from the fire and he used his left eye to see where he was going. Finely he made it outside, his left eye was hurting really bad but at least he made it outside to his family but couldn't see them, "Mama, Papa, brother. Where are you?" Franticly looking around he couldn't see them anywhere. The boy started to panic then heard a scream, his mothers scream. He ran for the house but it was too late, the house crumbed down, killing her. He realized that they were still inside but he couldn't see them cause of the smoke and fire, they were dead. The boy fell to his knees in the cold snow as he stretched his hand out, hoping someone would come out but nothing. His mom, his dad, his brother were gone...forever. Tears streamed down his face from his big brown eyes in a silent cry as it started to snow once more. The winded picked up blowing his blond hair in his face, his mouth opened with nothing coming out. Not knowing what to do, he sat there in the cold cold snow.

Nick felt a hand on his shoulder, through watery eyes he saw a man with his hood up, "I'm so sorry for your lost, is there any other family you have?" Nick shook his head, "No, i'm now lone." he wiped the tears from his eyes, "I couldn't save them, they are gone." More tears streaming down his eyes, "Then come with me, I'll treat you like you were my own son." He smiled from the shadows of his hood.
